Education & awareness
We work with schools, colleges and youth groups to help young people understand the realities and consequences of carrying a knife.
Knife crime prevention • Birmingham
Leo's Legacy Foundation was founded in memory of Leo Ross, a much loved 12 year old from Hall Green. We work to prevent knife crime through education, early intervention and life saving Critical Response resources.
In loving memory of Leo Ross.
What we do
Prevention saves lives. Our work focuses on stopping harm before it happens and making sure help is close at hand when it matters most.
We work with schools, colleges and youth groups to help young people understand the realities and consequences of carrying a knife.
We support young people at risk and work alongside families, communities and partners to steer lives away from harm.
We install public access Critical Response Cabinets and deliver training so a catastrophic bleed can be treated in the vital minutes before paramedics arrive.
Our story
Leo arrived in Hall Green at the age of six and grew into a kind, bright and much loved young boy. His death in January 2025 left families across Birmingham heartbroken.
Rather than be defined by that loss, the community came together. A fundraiser led by our founder Ish Shah raised nearly £25,000 and installed 37 public access Bleed Control Cabinets across the region. In July 2025, Leo's Legacy Foundation was formed to carry that work forward.
